Have this ready when you call

The model number from the rating plate. On a range it is usually behind the kick panel or inside the oven door frame; on a hood it is inside the housing behind the baffles.
What the appliance is doing, in the order it does it. "Clicks six times, then lights with a thump" tells us far more than "the burner is broken".
When it started, and whether anything changed first — a storm, a power cut, a deep clean, a new filter.
Whether the appliance is indoors or in an outdoor kitchen. Exposure changes what we bring.
